One of the lady members of Barton's circus company sustained serious injuries on Thursday, as the result of one of the vans coming to- grief on the Rimutaka road. Next Wednesday Messrs Miller and Craig will conduct a clearing sale of Mr Hoff's household furniture and effects, at his residence in Palmerston road. Barley, he stated," was fairly good and oats have a good heaA'y head although not long in the stalk. Barley Avas standing the dry Aveather better and AA'as looking, fairly Avell. On account of the general shortness of feed some farmers had had to open their paddocks for grazing. Referring to grass seed he stated that a crop had been cut at MataAvhero which had yielded 40 bushels per acre and this Avas considered satisfactory considering the season. Maize Avas not too good in consequence of the continued Avesterly wind.
