A meeting of the management committee, of the New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association 'was held last nigl^t, when the- secretary presented a statement of accounts in " connection with the New Zealand championship meeting * held at Christchureli. The. statement showed receipts to be £287 3s 6d, and the expenditure (including 20 per cent, off the taking' due to Lancaster Park, Ltd.), to be £178 Is Bd, thus leaving a credit balance of -£109 Is 10d. j,,* 1 The Waipawa Tennis Club's .' annual ; tourjtiar ment, to be held on February 22nd and 24th, was approved. An application ' Svas received from the Hawke's Bay Lawn Tennis Association that thp New . Zealand championships for 1912 be held in Hawke's Bay.— lt was resolved that the Hawke's Bay Association be written to, stating that a motion on the subject of' the location of future championship meetings would he submitted at the Council meeting to bo held in February. Dr. Eaves, the Association's delegate to the Lawn Tennis Association (London) wrote advising that he had been called suddenly to Australia, and had . asked Mr G. N. Hillyard to watch the New Zealand Association's interests with the London Association in his absence. — Dr. Eave's action was approved. The secretary of the Australasian Association forwarded a copy of a letter from Mr Wallis Myejs regarding the proposed visit of an English team to Australia. Mr • Myers wrote as captain of the English Drive team whfch visited South Africa last year: "I shall be pleased to organise a team, consisting of four players, to visit- . Australia in 1912. I think I could secure three of my South Afri- ■ can team, viz., C. Dixon, A. E. Beamish and F. G. Lowe, . who, with myself, could leave. England early in October next. According to regulations we should have to come as a Drive Club team, but since three of the members at least would be representative English players, I do not think your gates would suffer on that account. Perhaps you will let me know at your convenience how the proposal appeals to you, and what terms you would" be disposed to offer the club. I may say that, provided the bulk of our out-of-pocket expenses were found, I should not hesitate to fall in with any reasonable arrangement." The Australasian Association decided to offer Mr Myers half the profits of the tour of a team, with a guarantee of £400, and to inform him that he might extend his tour to New Zealand. Consideration of the letter by the committee, in view of the , possible extension of the tour to New Zealand, was deferred to a future meeting. It may be mentioned that a team from the Drive Club, Ful-, ham, toured South Africa in 1911. The team,' comprised Myers, Dixon, Beamish, Howe and R. B. Powell, and it defeated teams from ' Capetown, Port Elizabeth, Graharnstown, King Williamstown, East London, Kimberley, Bloemfontein and Ladysmith, and also won one of three tests against United South Africa. It was resolved that a bonus of £25 be granted to the secretary for ' hit services. In connection with the management of the championship meeting\ at Christchurch. Accounts amounting to £(j5 . 18s Id were passed for payment. The statement . of finance showed : Cash at Savings Bank £60, cash at -Bank of New' Zealand £146 10s 4d, amount receivable from championship meeting £22 ss. The secretary was instructed to invest sum of £90 from the current account as soon as it is available, placing it upon deposit in the Savings Bank.
