CHARGED WITH 6CO MURDERS. Telegrams from Smyrna announce the death of the famous brigand chief Tcha- \ kirdjiali, who has- been killed near the 1 village of Erzabazanr, in the "vilayet of Aidin, in an encounter with the gendarmerie. • Tcharkirdjiali was s> true disciple of Fi-a Diavolo, and has been the terror of the vilayet for the past 14 years. ■ j According to the estimate of a local Smyrna journal T'chakirdjiali was guilty of 600 murders, and the ransoms obtained by him are computed at £200,000.
