LABOR SCARCE IN SOUTH.
(Special to Herald.) DUNEDIN, this day. At an informal meeting of the members of the North Otago Agricultural and Pastoral Association, held on the occasion of an inspection by the agricultural expert, it was decided, on the motion of the vice-president, to deputationise the Ministers of Public Works and Agriculture, with a view to having co-operative works in tiie South Island suspended for the time being, in order to make the workers available for harvesting, owing to the shortage of labor in tho" district.
