A TICKET IN "TATTS."
(Special to. Herald.) DUNEDIN, this day. "Tattersalls" was in evidence during the hearing of a case in the Magistrate's Court yesterday morning. A defendant was being examined as to his means, and the prosecuting counsel drew from him the statement that he regularly put Is 3d per month into a sweep for a ticket in '"Tatta." It appeared that he was in hope of, some day, being fortunate enough to» strike a lucky number, arid thus, provide .himself with means to pay off his creditors'.' The circumstances oJ the case showed that the man was in low water financially, and liad had sick-' ness in liis family.
