RECORD FLIGHT.
PARIS, February 2. Captain Bellenger, ah army officer", has ' made the most remarkable crosscountry flight m the history of aviation. He accomplished' the aerial journey from Paris to Pau "with only three stops. The airman left the dyiatiori ■ camp at Vincennes at 8.45 yesterday morning, halted at Pohfc Leroy for breakfast at 10.30, and Poitiers for luYich at 1.30. He arrived at' Bordeaux shortly after five o'clock. Captain Bellenger started on the last stage of his journey at ten minutes to three this afternoon, and arrived at.Pau m exactly two hours. The total distance flown was nearly 500 miles. ACCIDENT T.O, MR DE HAVILAND. Mr G. de Haviland, the young aviator who is attached to the staff of the war balloon factory met with a severe accident yesterday afternoon -while flying m. his aeroplane at Farnborough. He was descending after a successful flight, and lauding too near a roadway that crosses the common, his machine crashed into the embankment. It was badly smashed and the aviator was thrown out, but luckily escaped with some rather severe bruises and a bad shaking.
