NATIVE LAND COURT.

(Before His Honor Judge Jones.) At a sitting of the Native Land Court to-day the matter of the Whangara lease to Hapi and Noa was before the Court. Application was made to the Court for direction to the Receiver to consent to a sub lease by Noa of 277 acres of Hi to Robert Knox, or that the Receiver should be instructed to make such lease. His Honor said it was quite competent for Mr Jackson to consent to such lease, a sub lease, Avithout coming to the Court for direction if Mr' Jackson Avere satisfied Avith the tenant. Tho Hon. Capt. Tucker said that Noa Avas not seeking to be released from liability for rent, but he could not farm the hind himself, and therefore had to find a tenant to do so. His Honor asked Avhat Noa Avould do with the balance of his half of the leasehold. Captain Tucker replied he did not know \vhat his intentions were. If Noa asked his advice it Avould be that the land should bo offered to Hapi at a fair rent, and if Hapi refused that it should bo let to somo European so that the rent might bo mado out of the land. He Avas quite satisfied Avith tho report of the Receiver as to tho partition of tho land.
