RICE IN THE PEPPER.
(Special to Heraid.y NAPLER; this day.. A Chinaihan, Low Yat 1 , Lung, was charged with committing a breach of the Food and Drugs Act m selling white pepper adulterated with 'ground rice. The analysis showed the article to be three parts pepper and one part ground rice. The defendant deposed to having bought* the -pepper from*' a Avholesale dealer, and (the defendant) had no hand', in' thc adulteration. ;A fine of £1 and costs AA'as imposed. ' (
