(Per Presg Association.) WELLINGTON, last night. A sub-committee reported to a meeting to-night of the Council of the. NeAV Zealand Football Association thaf they had gone into the proposal to invite a South African team to New Zealand m 1909, and recommended that such invitation be sent. The cost of the tour, £1000 to £1100." should be covered by guarantees by the various Associations m the folloAving amounts : Auckland, Wellington* and Otago, £250 each ; Taranaki £100; Wanganui, HaAvke's Bay, Canterbury and Southland £50 each; Wairarapa and South Canterbury £125 each. The committee further recommended that four . guarantors be obtained for bank purposes to guarantee £250 ■ each ; that each centre provide boarding accommodation; that the secretary Avrite to the South African team tentatively inviting a team on the lines of the invitation of the New South Wales Association m 1903 ; that an endeavor be made- to arrange matches on the return of the team m Australia ; and that Australia be invited to contribute toAvards the expenses of the New Zealand Council.
