EASTER MANDOEUVEWES.
(Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. The Auckland volunteers participate in the Easter manoeuvres on a large scale, the presumption being that a raiding force, escorted by cruisers, will be within striking distance of the coast at 5 p.m. on Friday. Lieutenant-Colonel Reed commands the attacking ■ party. Major Porritt directs the operations of .the defending force. The Amokura takes the duel position, being - sometimes a hostile cruiser attacking the forts, and at other times will examine each vessel that looks suspicious entering the port at certain hours of the night.
