A SHOOTING ACCIDENT.
Constable Kirby, of Tolaga Bay, arrived in town yesterday afternoon, having brought a young man named Ernest land into the hospital for treatment. Lind, who was employed on Mr Hutchinson's station inland from Tolpga Bay, wos about to shoot a dog. For. some reason he changed his mind, and hit the animal on the head with, the butt of the gun, when the charge went off and the bullet lodged in his body, above the right hip. The missile Mas extracted by Dr Weeks, of Tolaga, Bay, arid after several days' ' treatment it was deemed advisable to remove the patient" to Gisborne Hospital.
