POVERTV BAY CLUB.
The fust race/ in the above club's handicap single sculls for Mr H. Sandlant's trophy took place last evening between H. Wilkinson (14 sees) and D. Murray ,(28, sees.) Murray made the best of his handicap, although he was not in the best of condition lor rowing. He was overtaken at Dr Williams' corner by Wilkinson, wiio won comfortably. Murray's lelt arai gave way when nearing the junction. This evening J. Scott rows R. Houston, the latter, conceding 3 seconds. The social to be held in Whinray's Hall on Easter Monday night promises to be a great success. All the arrangements are well in hand, and tickets are going oft' well.
