It is understood that the Labor caucus is willing to support Sir William Lyne if given a majority of the portfolios. They want four portfolios, and one honorary member, leaving Sir William Lyne three portfolios and one honorary member. There is a possibility that Mr Deakin may consent to remain iuntil the close of the session. This will suit Sir William Lyne better . He will then be pre. pared to undertake the formation of the Ministry.
