Some members of the Civil Service, who have had 5 per cent- deducted from their salaries m accordance with' the statute and lodged with the Public True, tee, have now notified their intention of coming under the new superannuation scheme. By so doing they are now able to lift the 5 per cent, accumulation of years/. Some are collecting sums ranging from £100 and upwards. Yesterday £6000 was paid out by the Public Trustee m accumulated interest m Wellington alone.,- The amount that Svill have to be paid out over the whole Dominion will be £70,000.
