JUVENILE DRINKING.
■ . • : — : (Special to Herald.) ' . ; DUNEDIN, .this day. .'A warning to hotelkeepers not to encourage juvenile drinking was given by Mr Widdowson, S.M., at the Police Court, In dismissing ' a case against tftie, licensee of the Douglas hotel for permitting drunkenness on his premises, the Magistrate said ""that the matter of juvenile drinking had been previously referred to and was emphasised in the present case. It -showed a deplorable state of things in regard to the young men of the Dominion. From his own knowledge ■' he knew that young men did obtain bottles of beer and drank it in the street. To all hotelkeepers he would say that it" would be better for them if -they gave the young fellows only one drink. That the young men were, entitled to drink there could be no question, but it would be better to serve them with only one drink and no more.
