COOK'S PICTURES.

A capital entertainment of animated pictures was given m His Majesty's Theatre last 'lujght by Cook's Picture Company, , before a moderately large and. appreciative audience. Altogether over a mile of films was run ■off, and the entertainment, which lasted fully two Kours, comprised a great variety of subjects. Besides those of the manufactured class, a couple of good films of Mr Cook's own taking. were also, presented. One, a representation of a ride to the Barron Falls, m. the north of Queensland^ was a very pleasing picture, disclosing some, beautiful scenery. The otherj the subject , of which was .the popular sculling. race between Webb and Towns, met with, a hearty reception, and as the picture show- , ed Webb passing the winning post, the ' juvenile section of the audience gave vent to their patriotism by a demonstration of applause. The humorous element was also well catered for, and such subjects as "Towser and the Tramp," "Three Naughty Children," "Father and his 'Xmas Spree^" and "Tho Servants' Strike" provoked considerable merriment. Animated colored photography was an exceptionally pleasing part of the programme, amongst the views being a lengthy film entitled "The Magician's Art." A couple of illustrated, songs, "Aren't you coming back to OM, New Hampshire, Molly." and "Please come and, play m my Yard were capitally sung by Jtfr Sau-nders during the evening. To-night the company promise an entirely new. programme, except that, by request,- three, of --.the I 'best pictures shown, last night' will again be presented.
