: The fierce northerly gusts which swept across Wellington harbor on Thursday morning rendered the position of the New Zealand Shipping Company's big steamer Opawa unpleasant, as she lay at anchor m the stream pending loading orders. Captain Smith seemingly pre" f erred to seek other quarters, so at midday he took the Opawa's anchors up and sailed for Picton, where the vessel could ride out' the northerly m less danger of dragging anchors.
