SCIENTIFIC EXPEDITION.
(Per Press Association.) OHRISTCHURCH, last night. The Northern members of 'the subAntarctio expedition arrived ( m Christ - church to-night, and are unanimously of opinion that the scientific results are very satisfactory. •' They took. a large number of photos of the island, dealing, with plant and animal life, also views of the islands, but it; is feared that the adverse "weather conditions which prevailed will considerably affect the plates, and that they will turn out badly. : 7 Dr Cockayne proceeds to Wellington to-morrow en route far Kapiti . Island, where he will liberate the birds captured on the southern islands.
