Taura headed the field through the bluegums, with Hinetitama, Lady Rohina,' and Ladylike m that order. Coining round the bend the horses were together with Hinetitama showing m front 'and San Cruz a length to the rear. They came into the straight at a great pace, but Hmetitaina was at the head of the field, running strongly. Reservoir and San Cruz made a erand dash as the wanning post was being neared, and the finish was most exciting but Hinetitama had still a littlo to spare and won by half a length, which could* have been extended a little. The other pair were close together with bail Cruz well up m fourth position, *nd Taura bringing up the rear. Time, 1.34*. On tote, £1351. Dive.. £2 7s and £1 16s.
