SHEEP RETURNS.
The following are the sheep returns for 1907, showing the increase for the year commencing April 30, 1906 : — Waiapu County,. 480,672, against 456,012 m 1906, or an increase of 24,660. Cook County, 1,228,689, against 1,123,085, or an increase of 105,604. The toaLincrease is thus 130,264.' To this should be added 3600 of Mr E. D. Holt's flock, which were mistakenly included m that gentleman's return for his property m Opotiki County, but should have been included m the Waiapu , County. This would make the total sheep m the district 1,712,961. The sheep put through the freezing works last year totalled 364,792, and a large number of sheep were exported overland, through the Motu and via Wairoa. The total of frozen meat is made up as follows: — Gisborne Sheepfarmers' Frozen Meat Co., 178,632; Nelson Bros., 186,162; total, 364,794.
