" (Special to Herald.) NAPIER, this day. Messrs Dalgety and Cb., Ltd, have* received the following cable from their London office : Since our last cable -prices of frozen mutton are -weaker.. Prices unchanged for New Zealand crossbred frozen I lamb, and arc ratlicr dearer for frozen beef foi .quarters.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., report on stock sale held on Tliursday, April 25th. The attendance was. fair, but yardings arc smaller, as may be expected, as the season progresses. Sheep: We yarded 1586. but only found buyers for 4*26 ; the balance were ewes' in lamb, for which there was no_ demand. Sides were made at foljowiiig prices: Two-tooth ewes and wethers- 13s to" 14s,' forward ewes 12s 2d to 12 S sd, fat ewes (very prime) 15s, small lambs Bs. Cattle : We yarded 52 and sold 32. The demand was lifeless. Prices were : Weaners 10s for small, 23s better eorts, light beef cows £4, cows and calves £3 5s to £3 10s. Pigs : Weaners made- 12s to 13s baconci- 355. Horses : We sold a useful lot of unbroken light draughts and hacks; 17 found buyers at from £9 to £15 15s for the former, and £3 15s to £7 (for the latter. We sell again on Thursday, 2nd May, and thereafter the weekly sales will cease, and the fixtures will be held fortnightly lill further notice.
