The Canterbury Jockey Club's autumn meeting was concluded at Riccarton today in fine weather, although towards the close of tho afternoon a cold wind sprang up. The attendance was smaller than yesterday, and the investments were naturally not so largo, the total being £9839. Tliere were 84 investors on th e winning double, Cross Battery ancl Boomerang, which paid a. dividend of £16 18s 6d. Of the afternoon's racing the most interesting contest was that between Achillea and Porcelain, the North Island crack winning by a head. The later results were : — Great. Porcelain took charge soon after the start, but at the distance Achilles drew level, and after a great finish won by a head; De Witte four lengths away. Time, 1.27. Div., £1 17s. Addington Plate, of 100 sovs, 5 furlongs : Alexisi 1, -Soltjrkoff 2, Jolly Roger 3. Also started : Heirloom and Handel. Won easily by three lengths. Time, 60 4-sth. Div., £3 9s 6d.
