EAST COAST NATIVE TRUST LANDS BOARD.

As the period, fixed' by Parliament for realisation of the East Coast lands secured to the Bank of New Zealand expires on the 31st inst., the members of the Board, Messiis Macfarlane (chairman), Harding, and Shrimpton, and their secretary, Mr T. A. Cowman, met m Wellington this week to confer, with the Bank regarding the future realisation of the lands. On every point of the negotiations, the Bank met the Board m the most- liberal . manner, and, m view of the successful • results of tlie Board's past operations, it. 1 * was, resolved, that the realisation be left to the Board, with liberty to exercise the utmost discretion', ;in orier to enable it to give fullest consideration not only to the rights of the Bank, but also to the interests of the beneficiaries.
