Plymouth 50 Christ church... 38 Wangaiuii... 51 Timaru ... 38 Wellington 45 Oamaru . 39 Blenheim... 52 Dunedin ... 50 Nelson ... 48 Invercargill ... 38 Captain Edwin telegraphed this morning . — "Strong winds from between east and south and south-west; glass rise; tides high ; sea heavy ; weather colder." East Cape advised to-day: — "S.W. light breeze; barometer, 29.54; thermometer, 51; gloomy; ordinary tides; moderate sea." Bain was reported at Napier, Wanganui, Wellington and Dunedin to-day, the weather being overcast and gloomy at other ports, with variable winds. The sea was rough at Tauranga; very heavy at Castlepoint, Cape Campbell and Kaikoura; smooth to moderate elsewhere.
