♦ (Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, last night. There were fair yardings and attendance at the Addington market to-day. Fat cattle: 188 head came forward, and met with a spirited competition, with the result that prices showed a marked rise, and beef was valued at from 29s to 30s 6d per 1001 b; steers, £7 10s to £14 ss; heifers, £6 to £11; cows, £5 15s to £13 ss. Fat sheep : There was a, large yarding, including a good proportion of prime wethers and young ewes. For these competition was very brisk, and the high prices ruling recently were again exceeded. Freezing buyers bought very few ewes, but competed keenly for wethers. The firmness of the quartette was apparent m all cases, and even unfinished ewes were eagerly snapped up by butchers at from 13s to 16s, whilst for prime quality auctioneers had no difficulty m getting over 20s. The range of prices was : Prime crossbred wethers 21s to 27s 3d, lighter 17s 3d to 20s; prime merino wethers 17s 6d to 22s 3d, lighter 15s; prime wethers and ewes 18s 9d to 23s 9d, unfinished 16s to 17s 6d ; prime eyes 20s to 24s 3d, medium 17s 3d to 19s 9d, light 13s to 16s. Fat lambs : There was a yarding of about 850, comprised of very mixed quality, and there were not many really prime pens. Prices were on a par with last week's. Tegs brought 17s to 21s, freezers 13s 3d to 17s, butchers' 12s 6d tolßs 9d.

Pigs : The yarding was small, and all good sorts sold readily at last week's rates, best porkers showing a slight rise. Choppers brought, up to £4 15s ; baconers, 45s to 60s, equal to 5d per lb; porkers, 33s to 445, equal to 6d per lb.
