THE HALF-HOLIDAY.
(To the Editor of tfc* Herald.) Sir, — When your correspondent, H. Plimmer, gets to know Gisbbrne better he will learn that the present arrangement of having the half-holiday on Tkiufsday has proved highly satisfactory to both town and country, and I trust the Borough Council will recognise tfaa* business is of slightly more importance than cricket or football and. stick to Thursday as being the most suitable day. If I read the last paragraph of H. Plimmer's letter rightly, he would have us close on Saturday from one to six, and then open shop so. that the footpaths would be nicely lighted up to enable him to have his promenade — surely a iuce arrangements. —l am, etc., RETAILER.
