In committee a clause providing that women should not be candidates at Parliamentary elections was carried by 45 to 14. MELBOURNE, July 25. The Senate gave the final touches to the Tariff Bill and passed the Excise Bill unamended. The House of Representatives considers the Senate's amendment of the tariff about Friday. The State Minister of Agriculture has promised a deputation to take legislative • action controlling the branding of cattle.
