Sire, Earl o' Gowrie, winner of First Prizes at Christchurch and Ashburton (only time shown). Earl o' Gowrie, by Vanquisher (320), out of the champion mare Lass o' Gowrie. Dam, Blink Bonny, winner of Seven First Prizes, by Lord Salisbury (imported). Blink Bonny is also the dam of Lawrence Chief, three times champion at Rangiora, and First at Christchurch m 1900. Lawrence Chief and Blur Gowrie are her first two foals. Her full-sister, Flora McDonald, took 30 First Prizes, and was the Best Mare ever shown m New Zealand. BLAIR GOWRD3 himself is a full bay, with black points, 4 years old, and was bred by Mr John Shearer, Ashburton Forks. He has great substance, bone, an<l hair, and the best of tempers. He will serve a limited number of mares this season at £5 each mare. A half guarantee will be given with each mare, and the sum of £2 10s will be repayable on Ist August, 1902, for any mare that does not prove m foal, thus dividing the risk between the owner of the horse and the owner of the mare. The full fee of £5 must be paid before mares can be removed, and no reduction will be made. Every reasonable care taken, but no responsibility. Free grazing for mares m good paddocks for one month ; after that 28 6d per week will be charged. HERBERT N.
