The attendance was well up to the average, and the course was m good order, though not particularly fast. The concluding results were: — Hack Handicap : Ngaio, 8.11, 1 ; Somnolent, 7.11, 2; Black Wing, 7.5, 3. Time, 1.45 3-5. Div., £3 16s. Scratched: The Pony and Pakeha. Scurry Handicap, 45 soys, 5 furlongs : Warwick, 9.7, 1 ; Mongonui, 8.3, 2 ; Queen's Signal, 8.2, 3. Time, 1.4 4-5. Div., £5 16s. Railway Stakes Handicap, 150 soys, 6 furlongs: Cannie Chiel, 8.0, 1; Robin Adair, 9.13, 2; Okoari, 9.4, 3. Time, 1.16 2-5. Div., £2 9s. Scratched: Oingo, Autaia, Ngaio.
GREYMOUTH, Saturday. There was delightful weather for the races, but the attendance was only moderate. Apremete fell at the last jump m the Hurdle Race, but horse and rider were uninjured. The sum of £3254 was put through the totalisator. The additional results were: — Metropolitan Stakes: Will-o'-the-Wisp 1, Speculator 2, Hotu 3. Div., £1 9s.
