The returns for the past five weeks of the Waitekauri Company's mines are 2567 tons of ore treated for bullion worth £7941. leaves no doubt that it is a mud turtle (cinoßternum pennsylrtunicum), very common in the south-east of tho United States. Other turtles of a larger size have been seen in the locality, and efforts are now being made to catch them. How it reached the locality is a mystery. BLUFF, Tins day.
