MASONIC INSTALLATION.
There was a large gathering of the Masonic fraternity at the Masonio Hall last evening, comprising members of Lodges Montrose, 722, S.C., Abercorn, 76, N.Z., and a large number of visiting brethren, including Bro. J. P. Clark, D.6.5., Bro. Bennett, Pro. G.S.W., S.C., the oocasiob being the installation of Bro. Jas. Wallace, W.M., elect of Lodge Turanganui, 1480, E.C., and investiture of officers, also the installation of Bro. T. J. Diokaon as Worshipfu] Master of Lodge Montrose. The ceremony of installation in both instances was performed by Bros. J. P. Clark, P.D.G.S.W., D.G.8., W. 0. Skeet, P.D.G.J.W., and F. T. Faram, 1.P.M., assisted by Bros. G. Ball, P.M..J. R. Little, P.M., and Bro. Bennett. The following were invested as officera of Lodge Turanganui : Bros. F, T. Faram, I.P.M. j A. Sawyer, S.W. ; R. Robertson, J.W. ; W. 0. Skeet. P.M., Chaplain ;J. A. Harding, P.M., Treasurer; J). DeCosta, Secretary ; J. Geor(?'«son, S.D. jG. Primrose, J.D ; A. D. Robinson, 1.G. ; J. H. Ormond, Organist; G. Humphreys, 8.8. ; C. Adair, J.B. ;J. Harrop, Tyler. Bro. Skeet, P.M., acted as direotor of ceremonies. The musical portion of the oeretnony was performed by an efficient orchestra under the conduotorship of Bro. A. T. Hookey. At 'the conclusion of the ohief business of the evening, the brethren adjourned to a banquet, when the follow- < ing toasts were loyally honored :—" The Queen and Craft," " The Grand Lodges," proposed by Bro. Wallace, W.M., and responded to by Bros. Clarke, E.C., Bennett, S.C., and G. Bull, N.Z.C; " Worshipful Master and Officers," proposed by Bro. Skeet, P.M , responded to by Bros. Wallace and Diokaon, W.M.'a ; " Retiring Officers," proposed by Bro. M. DeCosta, P.M., and responded to by Bros. Faram, 1.P.M., and Leslie; "Installing Master," proposed by Bro. J. Little and responded to by Bro'. Clark; D.G.S; "Bister Lodges,',' proposed by Bro. Skeet, P.M., and responded to by Bro. R. Johnston, 1.P.M., and E. Parnelil J.P.M.; "Treasurers," proposed by Bro, M. DeCosta, and responded to by Bro. Whinray, P.M. ; " Visitors," proposed by Bro. Sawyer, S.W., and responded to by Bro. E. Richards, P.M , and Bro. Ready, P.M. ; " Provincial G.S. W.S.C," proposed by Bro. Robinson, J.W. , responded to by Bro. Bennett, P.G.S.W. j " The Ladies," proposed by Bro. A. Zachanah, and responded to by Bro. I). DeCosta; "Orchestra," proposed by Bro. Skeet, P.M., and responded to by Bro. Hookey. Songs were rendered during the evening by Bros. Coster, A. Zachariah, J, Smith, , A. T. Hookey, C. F. Lewis, R. Johnston, , M. G. Bennett, A. Sawyer, and a mandolin | solo by Bro. J. H. Ormond. ( The catering was in the bands of Bro. J. Craig, and was carried out in bis usual t excellent style. I
