LOCAL MAIL SERVICES.
The following tenders have been accepted for local mail services : — Gisborne and Patutahi, £20, thrice weekly, M. A. Stevens. Gisbortie and Ormond, £29 10s, daily, I). McKenzie. Tolugo Bay and Port Awanui, £80, weekly, W. Walker. Port Awanui and Hick's Bay, £35, fortnightly, C. L. Hansen. Gisborne and Wairoa via Tarawa, Morere, Nuhaka, and Maliia. — Daily coach between Gisborne aud Murewai during summer and tri-weekly in winter, weekly to Wairoa, by coach instead of packhorse as soon as the road is opened, £190, W. McKinley. Gisborne Post Office and wharf, £35, Kennedy and.Evans. No tender is to be accented for the Opotiki proposed service. It is to stand over until settlement is more assflred. Contracts for several other services in the district have not yet been settled.
