The defalcations amounted to over £20, hut had been made good. CHRISTCHURCH. To-day. On Saturday the body of an infant was discovered in a garden at Opawa. Evidence showed that ,a woman named Constable had a miscarriage, and her sister disposed of the body. The two women are to be charged with concealment of birth. A man named Harry Allpress, a flax miller at Studholme, is missing. He left a letter stating he intended to commit suicide. The man Allpress reported as missing has returned to his father's house. He has given no explanation of his strange behaviour or his reasons for writing an extraordinary letter. Simpson and Mussen, principals in the recent prize fights, were lined £5 on each charge. The information was amended to one of common assault. Accused pleaded guilty. DUNEDIN, To-day.
