Captain Edwin wired this afternoon as follows: — "Gale from west to south-west and south at all places northward of East Cape, Taupo, and Raglan within next 12 hours, and also southwaul of Timaru and Qucenstown, and after 12 to '20 hours at all other places. Barometer ri.se everywhere. Sea heavy on all wc-tc.ru coast, and after 16 hours heavy on all east coa<-t south of East Cape. Tides high on both coasts. Weather will I>d much colder in all parts of the country."
