To-day. ■ An application lo the Auckland Jewish Congregation to admit Miss Marion ' Mitchell as a proselyte in view of her ' marriage was remitted to the Wellington ' Rabbi, the Rev. Van Stavcrn. He says | he adheres strictly to the covenant made ' with Cromwell when he readmitted Jews ' to England that they were not to make proselytes. In any case the Jews were ' not a proselytising race, and always ] discouraged the idea. The application would be refused. AUCKLAND, To-day.
