THE YARRA TRAGEDY.

* (Electric Telegraph-Copyright— United Press Association.) Meldodrse. Jan. 15. During his Tasmauian and New Zealand career the husband of Madame Ledebur went under the name of Professor Carl Ledebur, and carried on the profession of masseur. [Per Press Association".] CiraiSTOHURCii, to-day. The police here say that Madame Radalski is identical with the wife of Carl Von Ledebur, who over two years ago carried on a massage electric healing establishment in Cbristchurch, but in consequence of some revelations in Court made himself scarce. It is rumored he has just returned to Dunedin. The police think she did not accompany him here. Prior to the burial of the victim of the Yarra tragedy, the detectives engaged on the case (reports the Melbourne Argus of December 28th) decided to remove the head from the trunk, and preserve it in spirits with a view to possible identification. The necessary authority was obtained from the Crown Law Department, and tho work was accomplished, the head being plunged into a glass cylinder full of methylated spirit, and left at the morgue, while the rest of the body was laid in a grave. The step taken was amply justified by subsequent developments. The action of the spirit" considerably reduced the swelling from the face and drove the unnatural blackness from the skin, and, what is far more important, revealed on the surface of the forehead a scar of peculiar shape and position.
