CORRESPONDENCE.
(To tor EDiion of Tire Herald.) Sir,— l am very sorry tv see such a fn^s made out of what you might lightly cull a good-humored skit on one of our public men, who I niuinlaiu has a right to the fair criticism of any ratepayer without having the " tread on the tail of my coat " outburst of Mr W. J. Henncssy. If he. were one interested I could undci»hu>d it, but really I don't think Mr Harding would take that notice of it, but would have been through the joke and have taken it in the spirit it was intended. But -Mr llennesf-y may have bee:i led awny by the tn'ergratitudc which he thinks is due to Cr Harding by the community. Let him have all the thanks due to him by all means. 1 was one of his supporters at the last election, and probably would bo at the next, but so long as he holds a. '■eat in any public body so long will he be open to criticism. In conclusion, I Mould suggest to Mi Hennessy and " Young New Zealand," it would be better if when they see anything in the press to read between the Hnea, and they will hesitate before they raise s>uch a
"storm in a teapot" over what lias not the slightest offence to them ol 1 anyone else. From one who is perfectly satisfied with the norn deplume of — Yours thankfully, " LOYALTY."
