SPORTING.
The following weights have been declared for the Whangarei Cup, H miles, to be decided on Friday next:—-St. Gordon ()'S, St. Lawrence S'4, Crusade B'4, Admiral 1 Hawke 8-2, Regulus 7 I' 3, Thelma 7 0,! Boadicea 7-2, Tiki ti'lo, Emblazon b'-10. One of the equine sights of the summer meeting (says the Auckland Star) was the parade of Multiform in the enclosure prior to being sent to the post to content the Auckland Plate. The spectators lined up very deep to have a look at New Zealand's champion racehorse, while Mr Stead stood in the centre of the enclosure noticing every movement of the horse, and not (satisfied with this, ho got Durritt to dismount in the straight to see that all of the gear was alright. Mr Morrin. the breeder of Multiform, proudly revised the scene from the stewards' stand. Truly the son of Hotdikiss is v splendid specimen of the thoroughbred. The sum of £7077 10s was paid away in stakes over the A.R.C. Summer Meeting. Mr G. G. Sttad bended the list with £1273, whilst Mr J. J. Russell was second with £1258. Mr E. J. Evans was the most successful uf the northern spoilsmen, his dividend being £555 15s, whilst Mr J. S. Budge, the owner of Bluejacket, was next with £480 ss.
