THE RISING IN RHODESIA.
Capetown, June 24. ! Three prospectors have reached Port Salisbury in an exhausted state after being chased by the Matabeles for 48 hours. The prophet Olemo has been killed. 1 June 25. — News has been received from : Port Salisbury that the whole country round that place has risen, and relief is anxiously 1 awaited. ' Many whites have been murdered, including nine members of the Ayrshire patrol. i Fifty thousand rounds of Martini-Henri - ammunition are stored at Marindella. Fort Charter is also surrounded. i The natives have seized all the cattle they can secure, and are killing the herd boys. The Cape Government has offered to assist j i in the transport of ammunition, men, and 1 supplies. ' Plummer's patrol had an engagement with 1 the enemy, in which the latter lost 30 men. They burned 200 kraals and recaptured 700 head of cattle.
