NAPIER, To-day. Mr A. S. M. Poison, of the Timaru High School, has been appointed second master of the Napier High School. There were 18 applications. AUCKLAND, To-day. The Talisman Gold Mining Company's Directors have received applications from London for an extension of time for floating the mine. Thoy have refused the extension and decided to withdraw from the negotiations in order to atart work on the company s own account. ■ . Trout have been captured in the Kotorua stream 171bs in weight. They are believed to be the American brown lirout.
