[Peb Pbess Association.] WELLINGTON, To-day. Hugh Cameron and Galtano Russo, have been committed for trial on a charge of stealing a quantity of articles from the wreck of the barque Halcione. The dwelling house of Allan Strong at Motoa, near Foxton, has been destroyed by fire. The loss is estimated at £1000, which is covered by insurance in the London Liverpool and Globe Office. Dr Ewart has accepted the offer of the Trustees to remain in charge of the Wellington Hospital, his salary to be increased from £350 to £700, and a honse to be erected for him. AUCKLAND, To-day. The local share market is quiet, bub should improve, as private cables from London show that Waihi-Silvertons were quoted at 47s 6d on the 10th inst. They could not yesterday be procured under 635, ,an order at 60s being declined. The Queen of Waihi directors have received a cable requesting that the necessary documents to float the company be forwarded to London forthwith. The permanent artillery returned from Little Barrier Island this morning. Mr MoAlißter, solicitor for the Crown, induced all the residents, including Tenatahi and his family, to leave without offering any obstruction.
