The Fire at Broken Hill.
Sydney, July 26. There »»■ 'little change in the fire at Broken ?^' Extensive blastings are being continued, but as one vent is cleared, it breaks I out in others. A fire engine has been lowered down the cliff and carbonic acid gas will be tried again to-morrow on au extepsive scale. Opinion ia gaining that the present tactics will have to be abandoned. Those who have had Bimilar experiences are urging the construction of a wall at each side- to shut the fire in, then open all vents to encourage ib to burn itself out. •
