London, June 8,
The Financial Times, commenting on the South Australian Budget, declares that colony. to be one of the most lightly burdened and most solvent of the colonies. A leading feature is its financial recovery, dominated by Scotch and Germans, who are noted for their caution, and few of the colonies invested more in reproductive works, which now proves that the turning corner has been reached.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, have received the following commercial cable, dated London, 6th June, 1895: -Frozen meat ; The mutton market has an upward tendency. Canterbury mutton ia worth 3&d per lb, and Wellington mutton 3&d per lb. The lamb market has an upward tendency ; prime New Zealand lambs are worth per carcase 5Jd per lb.
