PARIS, Feb. 1. The Customs Committee has adopted eight francs duty per hundred kilos, of wheat. Provision, however, is made when the market price of wheat is 25 francs, that the duty be reduced, and abolished when the price is 33 francs. Feb. 2.— Perier, the Premier, defended the French navy from Lockray's attacks, and declared that two hundred thousand men were available for coast defence. He undertook to reform the abuses.
