THE END DRAWING NEAR.

SESSION COMING TO A CLOSE. DATE OF GENERAL ELECTION. (Parliamentary Reporter.) Wellington, to-day. It is understood that the session will be over within three weeks, and that the general elections will be held during the tirsfc fortnight of December, probably the Bth or 9th. After the session there is expected to be a period of political rest and truce until after the Christchurch carnival week, which a large number of members have announced their intention of attending, but after this rest the electoral campaign will break out with great virulence, and the second week of November will see election addresses being given all over the country. It has been «il*imed that if women are granted the franahise this would necessitate a delay of a couple of months for enrolment before an election could be held, but this it not the case, as Government u*:r«£ made arrangements for immediate enrolment, and should the Bill pass in its present form there would be no delay beyond the date given above.
