THE GREAT CYCLONE.
TERRIBLE LOSS OF LIFE AND DESTITUTION. NEGROES FIGHTING FOR FOOD. ; Washington, Sept. 1. News has been received from Beauforb that thousands of negroes at Port Royal, South Carolina, who are in a destitute condition, are fighting for food. The mortality resulting from the cyclone is estimated at 1000. Sept. 2. The cyclone killed 200 in Beaufort County alone, all negroes except three.
