Education Board.
The Board met in Napier on Tuesday when the following business relating to^ this district was transacted : — Gisborne.— Apply iua; for sum for con veniencea for the infant sc hool, otherwise mat-tar would have to bs reported to the Borough Council. Granted. — Alao, asking that the forms and desks might be raised. Sum voted for purpose. — Alao, wanting Lls for shelter shed. — LlO voted. Maknuri. — Desiring to retain the serricea of pupil teacher, and offering LlO towards salary.— Average attendance did not warrant it, and such an arrangement was impossible under the regulations. Matawhero. —Asking for a grant of L4O to raise school ground. — No funds. Ormond. — Miss Baker was granted on« month's leave. Board had no funds for teacher's residence. Patutahi. — Sura of Lls granted for shelter shed. Te Karaka, — Further information to be obtained before money granted for improvements. Waereng.vahika. — No funds for roof of teacher' 3 residence.
