SYDNEY, Dec. 9.
The Marine Board dismissed the case against the captain of the Port Glasgow, and expressed the opinion that the officers utterly failed in their duty towards the captain under the trying circumstances in which he was placed by an insubordinate and unreasonable crew.
Free laborers are loading the Port Pirie with frozen meat at Newcastle. The strikers offered to submit the dispute to arbitration but were refused. Nine members of the Union, including the president, who declined to stand by the decision to strike, were struck off the membership roll.

The Minister of Agriculture has recaived a communication from a Glasgow firm pointing out the desirableness of sending cheese direct to Scotland. The firm state that they handled a considerable quantity of New Zealand cheese last season, and it realised 5d to ujd after charges had been met. They found the packing of the New Zealand article most satisfactory. The prospect of floating a loan locally is received with much disfavor. It is felt tha time is inopportune, and that the -attempt will fail unless the terms are good enough to attract subscriptions from England. BRISBANE, Duo. 10. The total amount of Queensland loans which remain unfloated is £1,404,000, including £221,000 worth of Treasury bills. NEWCASTLE, Dec. 10. The shipping dispute has been settled.
