[Per Press Association.] AUCKLAN©, To-pay. The schooner Waireka from Long Island bo Dunedin pub in for shelter lasb night. She sails again thia evening. Arrived : Elderslie, Captain Olsen, from London (June 11) via Los Palmas and Hobart, with three thousand tons of oargo for New Zealand, 900 being for Auckland. She had a very sfcormy passage across the southern ocean. Sighted an immense icebeag in 25 degrees south. She encountered the same heavy easterly gale as the Mariposa, and took a greab quantity of water aboard, some of ib finding its way into the cargo. In two days on the New Zealand coast she only steamed 128 knots. She leavos for Wellington and South on Thursday. WELLINGTON, To-day. Lady Jersey visits Lady Onslow in November. Ifc is uncertain whether the Governor of New Soufeh Wales will accompany her. The mutilated body of a man, name unknown, was found near Shannon this morning. He had evidently been run over by lasfc night's train.
