H.B. DEUCATION BOARD.
At the Education Board meeting the followingcorrespondence of local interest was dealt with : — From fiisborne, urging the necessity for painting and repairs. — Postponed. From (Jisborne, recommending Mesdames Tansley and Beere as examiners of sewing in that district.— Approved. From Alakauri, asking for various improvements and repairs to buildings. — Deferred. From Patutahi, recommending Mrs Woodward as assistant mistress.— After some discussion ifc was decided to suggest to the committee that ifc would be more desirable to appoint an unmarried lady, as the work of the school would be less liable to periodical interruption.
